Bill Would Place Marijuana into Schedule III Amidst More “War on Drugs”

Marijuana is currently a Schedule I drug under the 1970 Controlled Substances Act, even though the more dangerous drugs of methamphetamine, fentanyl, OxyContin, and cocaine are Schedule II. A proposed bill would place marijuana into Schedule III.

This is happening while the Attorney General launches the U.S. into another continuation of the failed, costly, destructive War on Drugs. What a horrible allocation of resources it is to pursue and imprison nonviolent people with mere drug offenses.
