The NYT was wrong when it said the landmark climate report had not yet been published. In reality, the climate report had been published in January at the Internet Archive, but it hadn’t received much attention. This is another example of why it’s important to keep questioning, and it’s also an example of how media companies typically operate. Much of the press — 90% of U.S. media, if it’s defined in a certain form — is controlled by rich business interests. It’s common sense to then conclude that much of the press owned by wealthy business interests will be largely operated for those interests.
I’ve corrected the title of the post I made a few days ago on this matter. It’s disappointing that climate mayhem — an issue of immense significance — may be focused on less because of this error.
